Demographics:
Our site subscribers are typically mobile wireless professionals who aren't actively seeking a new position (aka
passive / qualified, already employed candidates) that wish to receive labor news, interviews and new opportunities in
our industry.
In most cases, our site visitors send confidential
email inquiries and/or CVs, resumes to our clients when a new position
is posted to this blog. Accordingly, Candidates do not post their
credentials to our site.
Mobile Content / Wireless Employers:
One way you can offer extra exposure on the benefits and opportunities of your company is
to be interviewed in our monthly HR Q&A eNewsletter,
MobileContent Careers. Here is your opportunity to give
some insight on what your prospective candidate can expect when
working at your company
from day one.
Our Q&A is sent to you via email (MS Word) that takes very little
time to complete. You have the option of discussing any of our 7 primary
HR topics: Retention, Relocation,
Safety, Compliance, Training,
Staffing/Recruiting, and Compensation
as they may pertain to your company. Mix and match topics.
Accordingly, we (MobileWirelessJobs
/ MobileContentJobs) have already prepared questions
based on the 7 HR topics.
Pick those questions you wish to talk about or
feel free to create your own questions and answers.
There will be no possibility of being misquoted and you may also
run these questions/responses by your PR or Corporate
Communications Dept for approval if necessary.
In order to participate, you
must follow these requirements:
1) Mobile Content / Wireless Employer - Your
company must be related to the Mobile Content and Wireless
industries. All other industries will not be accepted.
2) Open Positions -
Your company must be actively seeking qualified Mobile Content /
Wireless Candidates (either passive or aggressive) for open positions and be willing to list at least some of these opportunities on
MobileWirelessJobs.com / MobileContentJobs.com.
We encourage new employers to
participate in this effort for MobileWirelessJobs.com /
MobileContentJobs.com. We are known to
offer complimentary job postings for your input towards
MobileContentCareers. Over the years, our studies have shown a
substantial increase in your qualified resume response rate as a
result of your time.
Space is limited! Contact us to
be interviewed in a forthcoming issue!
Sample Interview:
MobileWirelessJobs: What techniques does your company use to retain employees?
Employer: First and foremost we've created a culture that is a good fit for star performers who enjoy collaborating with others. We focus on hiring employees who are a strong fit for the company and will support and enhance the culture we want to maintain. We are a venture-backed, pre-IPO startup, positioned as a technical leader in an emerging, high-growth market space, so the business and technical opportunity for employees is fantastic. We conduct annual employee surveys to see how we're collectively doing in the areas that are most important to us, and our people initiatives are developed based on the survey results. Some of the programs we've implemented include rewards & recognition and training & development. We have fantastic parties every quarter, a great work environment, and lots of nice little perks. You can learn more about what it's like to work here at www.ourwebsite.com and by reading our blog at
www.ourwebsite.com/blog
MobileWirelessJobs: Has retaining employees ever hurt the company in terms of hiring newer, more qualified employees?
Employer: We only hire the very best in the first place, and we communicate openly about performance, so we haven't had a problem with this yet.
MobileWirelessJobs: To what degree do you track employee satisfaction? How are you tracking it?
Employer: We're a small company of only 80 employees with a culture of open communication, and a strong open-door policy, so on a day-to-day basis, we have a pretty good idea of how people are doing. We also conduct an extensive, confidential employee survey on an annual basis to identify and address any issues that may not be readily apparent, and to develop new initiatives for improvement.
MobileWirelessJobs: What exercises outside the office are used to improve employee morale? (e.g. softball, company picnics, etc.)
Employer: We have a great holiday party every year for employees and their significant others, and an annual summer picnic for families. During the other two quarters of the year, we have incredibly fun, all-company outings. We've done things like go-kart racing, The Go Game, and geo-caching. We have a company softball team that was nearly undefeated the past two seasons. Our rewards and recognition program includes team rewards and outings to celebrate team accomplishments.
MobileWirelessJobs: What percentage of employees have you retained? What is your turn-over ratio?
Employer: We've retained over 80% of the people we've hired over the past 4 years. Voluntary turnover is about 10%.
