Qpass: Graphic/Visual Designer, Seattle, WA
Qpass is looking for a full time Visual Designer to help develop user interfaces for Qpass Web-based products, and to mature and expand the visual style of Qpass user interfaces. This is a hands-on role on a high-performance team of talented usability designers, information architects and software developers.
To qualify, candidates must have substantial visual and software product user interface design experience, as well as a solid background in interaction design. Experience with client/server and Web-based business applications and mobile devices is required.
The successful candidate will possess substantial skill in writing efficient, cross-browser compliant HTML, XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create product user interfaces which may feature advanced layouts. Proficiency in various software tools for prototyping and designing visual elements, such as Visio, Illustrator, and Photoshop, is also required.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Turn product design wireframes into fully ‘skinned’ cross-browser compliant XHTML + CSS
• Work with product planners and usability engineers to understand user issues and explore design solutions to meet those needs
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive UI style guide and user interface module library
• Extend, refine and mature existing visual design language and user interface modules to address changing market needs and accommodate new product lines
• Create icons, buttons and other artwork as required for use in product user interfaces
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
• At least 5 years experience in any of graphic design, interface design or interaction design
• Advanced knowledge and practical skill in writing efficient and sophisticated HTML, XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with Flash or other prototyping tools a plus
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to accomplish objectives and possess proactive and strategic problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in design or related field is required
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED
• At least 5 years experience in any of graphic design, interface design or interaction design
