Reports to: VP, Finance
Primary Responsibilities
Develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
Maintain and develop Great Plains FRx templates to facilitate financial analyses of the company. Experience in Crystal Reports highly desired.
Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts
Build efficient load files utilizing FRx to consolidate multiple companies with multiple currencies into an HFM database for monthly actuals, quarterly forecasts and annual budget purposes
Complete disclosure schedules and ensure accuracy of monthly reporting in HFM
Coordinate and implement Great Plains software updates.
Furnish internal reports, revise and update reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnish external reports as necessary.
Prepare monthly budget vs. actual reports and distribute to department heads
Develop and produce contractually mandated reports in a timely fashion
Develop ad-hoc financial reports in FRx, Excel, Access, or Crystal Reports
Coordinate the development of accurate source reports for customer invoicing
Interact with various levels of management within and outside of finance, internal and external audit teams and participate in cross-functional projects.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Advanced ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and five to ten years of accounting experience.
Knowledge of accounting software and office applications. Experience with HFM (Hyperion Financial Management), Hyperion Enterprise, Great Plains, FRx, and Crystal Reports highly preferred. Advanced-level Excel and Access skills required. Understand how to analyze, prepare, and present accounting information in a professional and useful fashion.
Understand the implications of system changes to the company’s financial statements and general ledger and the interrelationships of various accounting and reporting systems.
Experience in a multi-company/multi-currency environment preferred.
Position requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
