The New Technology Division is responsible for approving new media and technology, partners, formats, and security methods for distribution of digital content on CD/DVD’s, over the Internet, and mobile networks. We seek a dynamic analyst whose primary focus will be Digital Anti-Piracy and the maintenance of a new media lab. The successful candidate will be versed in a variety of emerging technologies in media and entertainment and be responsible for analyzing and reporting on digital piracy trends and to aid in the company’s efforts to reduce piracy. In addition, the candidate will install and test various media related applications and devices.
Specific responsibilities will include:
–Collect and analyze data from various P2P and other internet piracy channels and our antipiracy service partners to measure success of our preventive efforts as well as measure and track market trends.
–Test media applications on various computers and various devices (napster, itunes, etc.)
Requirements:
–Demonstrable knowledge of P2P environments such as KaZaA, eMule, Limewire, Bit Torrent, etc
–Good understanding of digital networking architecture and high-speed data transmission
–Maintenance and updating of equipment and programs tested and demonstrated in new media lab
–Working knowledge of multimedia file formats and compression like Windows Media (WMA), AAC, MP3, WAV, AIFF, etc.
–Basic knowledge of a variety of operating platforms such as Windows, Macintosh, Linux, Symbian, Windows Mobile, Palm OS, etc.
–Good time management and organizational skills
–Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
–Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
–Knowledge of Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologies such as Microsoft Windows Media and Apple Fairplay
–Knowledge of client software platforms such as Macromedia (Director, Flash, Dreamweaver), Java, HTML, and XML
Qualifications:
– 1-3 years of relevant experience
– Undergraduate degree in Computer or Information Science is highly desirable as is experience in project management.
– Ability to handle multiple on-going projects.
– Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with a variety of corporate professionals and partners
