Director – Retail Operations
Job Purpose
Reports to Vice President – General Markets and is responsible for day-to-day operations and profitability of the Owned Retail Operations. Provides leadership, guidance and training to the Area Managers and Retail Leadership Team to help them ensure that sales targets are met, expenses goals are achieved, customer expectations are exceeded, and that store employees are coached and developed. This position is accountable for all staffing needs of the stores, day to day operations including cash management, accounting reporting, inventory management and accountability, and store appearance and maintenance. The revenue and sales goals are achieved by selling all consumer and general business products. This position is responsible for effectively coordinating sales strategies and processes with Channel Marketing and General Business sales management.
Essential Functions
· Implement sales processes in stores to achieve the daily, weekly and monthly sales goals 10%
· Interact with Marketing, Sales Support and Customer Care and provide feedback on promotions, care issues, goal setting, product needs, and the customer experience 10%
· Develop and manage the appropriate store and rep productivity metrics 10%
· Coaching on performance and develop competencies and career path for reps and managers 10%
· Coordinate with Channel Marketing the store commission program and leverage the program in sales strategies 10%
· Provide high quality service to all Cincinnati Bell customers and potential customers that enter or call the store 5%
· Work with the Six Sigma team on improving the NPV of each store 5%
· Provide day to day and on going training on product and services offered in the store 5%
· Provide leadership on company and store culture, team building, and the performance management process 5%
· Manage each store to a monthly expense target and ensure timely processing of approved vouchers 5%
· Provide leadership, training and guidance to the Area Managers and Retail Leadership Team in performing the following duties: 25%
· Assess the customer’s needs and provide appropriate communications solutions and applications from our product and service line
· Provide helpful, professional, and courteous assistance on Cincinnati Bell related services that fall beyond the scope of the services offered at the store
· Take ownership and thoroughly understanding the features and benefits of all services and products offered, including bundles and new products and services offered
· Take ownership for knowing and understanding our promotional offers and efficiently disseminating them to the store managers and representatives
· Take ownership for understanding the systems that support our products and services
· Thoroughly understand all aspects of the store POS system, including sales order entry, returns, exchanges, cash management reports, inventory management and reports and other applications as they may be developed
· Demonstrate superior team skills that lead and support other team members in our mission to serve the customer and operate a highly professional store operation
· Attain sales and service goals as defined by Consumer Management Team and customer feedback
· Successfully demonstrate a superior application of all training provided
· Provide adequate levels of product stock, provide inventory reports on a regular basis and as requested, and provide accountability for all product transactions through the stores
· Maintain the all stores in a very clean first class manner. Keep all displays of products and services, graphics, fixtures and furniture in top show condition. Maintain all other remaining area of the store (carpet, walls, ceilings, storage, restrooms, etc.) in a first class organized manner
· Determine the necessary store staffing schedule and address changes as needed
Education
· Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Experience / Background
· 3 to 5 years
Special Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
· Superior management and organizational skills, retail experience a plus
· Knowledge of the retail sales management process helpful
· Superior listening skills, coaching techniques, and disciplinary practices
· Experience with any Six Sigma initiatives
· Intelligent, able to absorb and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of a broad range of products, services, procedures and systems. Wireless background helpful
· Strong analytical skills and a comfort working with a variety of metrics

Miscellaneous
The Regional Manager of Owned Retail is responsible for one of Cincinnati Bell’s most important sales channels for wireless product. This position will also be actively involved in driving the transformation of the stores to better serve its existing primarily consumer base, while also developing plans to service general business customers. This leader will help to determine and drive all aspects of changes required in the retail operations and will be expected to exhibit great leadership ability. While driving any change, the leader will also be expected to deliver all sales results.
