Marketing Director – Wireless Start-up
Our client is a leading supplier of next generation mobile messaging solutions. The company is venture-backed and is now looking to hire a Marketing Director to be based in the company’s UK office located in the Thames Valley.
This person will be business focused, demonstrating abilities to develop comprehensive marketing plans, develop strong marketing content and be able to show results for growing revenue and market share. The individual must be able to service the marketing needs of numerous markets, and understand the context of a customer problem as it pertains to the solutions offered. The candidate must be a self-starter and must thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires resourcefulness, superior people skills, strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task. They must have international experience and have sufficient technical skills to understand the nature of the customer business problem.
The role will report to the CEO and candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
Prior start-up company experience.
A minimum of 5 years marketing experience, with significant exposure to product marketing.
Prior experience of marketing products and solutions to European tier 1 and tier 2 mobile operators.
Experience of working with technical product teams and sales teams.
Good technical understanding of messaging systems.
Responsibilities:
Lead market intelligence gathering and analysis for messaging products, including market and target customer requirements, direct and indirect competitive analysis, and market sizing.
Develop product packaging, promotions, product support & upgrade programs.
Develop compelling product positioning to differentiate the company’s products from the competition, and address target segment business needs.
Develop comprehensive external launch plans.
Develop comprehensive sales tools for direct and indirect channels
