Position Description:
The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for product positioning and messaging, analyzing competition, preparing core content materials, helping drive marketing programs and other outbound marketing activities for one or more of Good Technology*s wireless email, enterprise application access, and security products. The Product Marketing Manager works closely with Good product management, sales, hardware partners, and corporate marketing to present Good*s products to the market through collateral, sales tools, marketing campaigns, and other mechanisms. Good Product Marketing is the *voice of the product* within and outside of Good, provides input on product strategy, and serves as a competitive intelligence expert.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Coordinate marketing launches of new products and supported handhelds. Coordinate closely with carrier and hardware partners.
* Develop effective marketing and sales tools (brochures, whitepapers, sales presentations, demos, other tools) to achieve aggressive sales goals.
* Analyze competitors and provide highly differentiated competitive positioning to sales
* Perform market analysis and develop go-to-market plans which incorporate target markets, sales channels, required lead generation, etc.
* Participate in product strategy and product planning
* Lead outbound product launches including developing messaging, competitive positioning, sales tools, sales training, announcements etc. associated with new product introductions
* Develop clear product positioning and effectively communicate product positioning to sales.
* Develop sales training materials and conduct sales training
* Work directly with the sales team to support their efforts in effectively selling the product
* Track competitors, recommend market responses to competitor actions, and regularly communicate changes and positioning to the competitive landscape to sales.
Experience / Skills Required:
* Experience with cellular phone, smartphone, and PDA hardware from Dell, Samsung, Palm, Motorola, etc.
* Experience joint marketing with commercial partners
* Minimum 5 years experience in software/high-tech product marketing, ideally for companies selling high volume business products
* Competitive analysis
* Go-to-market planning and business plan development
* Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional projects (e.g. product launches)
* Communication of complex topics in a straightforward manner
* Experience in telecom or with wireless products is desired
* Strong presentation and sales training skills
* Strong written communication skills
* Team player * this position is highly cross functional and requires significant team work to be successful
* Ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels
* Technical or business BS/BA with an MBA desired
