Senior Wireless Modem Developer
Procom is currently recruiting for a dynamic and versatile Senior Software Developer to fill one permanent position within its client’s development team in Ottawa. The team is working on the next-generation family of wireless broadband access products and needs an enthusiastic individual to push forward the design and development of new products.
Primary role(s):
The successful candidate will play an integral role in the design, implementation, integration and testing of next-generation wireless products, which leverage leading edge technologies.
Sub-objectives:
The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills to take ownership for the architecture, software partitioning, real-time scheduling and low–level implementation. In this role you will collaborate with highly energetic design teams distributed in several locations to advance the product design. Responsibilities will be at all levels of the development cycle from product requirements definition through to prototype testing and integration and field support.
Mandatory skills:
* Excellent experience doing C/C++ development
* Extensive experience with multi-threaded real-time scheduling
* Experience with hardware integration and lab test equipment.
* Experience with wireless modem and MAC layer
Desired skills:
* University Degree in Computer Science or similar
* Experience with LINUX
* Experience with PowerQUICC and ARM926
* Experience with VxWorks
Mandatory personal skills:
* Must have self- management and leadership abilities.
* Must have strong written / spoken English and interpersonal skills
