Our Quality Assurance Director is responsible for defining the strategic direction of the QA Group. This person manages the deliverables of multiple QA teams located in several locations (California, New Jersey, India). The role also requires working with various organizations both internal (i.e., developers, business units) and external (i.e., vendors, partners) to VMU as well as all employee levels, including the VMU Leadership Team.
In addition, the QA Director will have primary responsibility for managing offshore outsourced QA resources and projects. This includes managing a multi-million dollar vendor relationship and ensuring all deliverables are clearly defined and met.
The position requires experience managing in an IT environment which delivers complex application solutions within very short timeframes. Also, given the potential impact to the VMU subscriber base, when issues are not identified the role requires a strong understanding of “customer experience” across multi-channel platforms.
Additionally, you’ll manage both onshore (multi location) and offshore QA resources. This includes mangers, leads and testers.
We are looking for someone with 10+ years of QA experience in related fields and at least 5 year of experience in a management role or equivalent. You must have solid in-depth understanding of QA processes and methodology. Experience in the wireless telecommunications industry. Testing experience with PDA and/or Handsets. Experience managing offshore resources. Experience with imbedded software, SMS, MMS, WAP and Multimedia (MP3, video, expansion memory, etc).
