We are building a unique startup-oriented team dedicated to creating a digital wireless infrastructure to connect consumers to information and content in an easy and user-friendly manner. As a solid team of just over 100, we can preserve the small-company atmosphere while still benefiting from the many corporate assets of AOL: a world-class technology infrastructure, extensive user base, the many AOL services such as AIM, AOL Music, etc., and the media assets of TimeWarner.
Our team is looking for experienced Technical Evangelists to work with the consumer electronics, cell phone handset and infrastructure vendors and content companies to ensure AOL’s technology direction is aligned and fully understood to maximize the opportunity for cooperative business opportunities to bring compelling devices, services and content to consumers.
The candidate must be extremely articulate and convincing in both written, oral and presentation style communications and be skilled at fostering cooperation, managing objections and driving towards a win-win outcome.
Candidates must be able represent our company, technology architecture and product features to partners and customers with awareness of Intellectual property considerations and remaining focused on the goal. The successful candidate will also have to work internally with the development and marketing teams to represent the partners directions to ensure they are factored correctly into product planning, technology roadmaps and marketing plans. The candidate will be expected to be comfortable giving presentations to small and very large groups around the World.
Candidates should be completely comfortable with PC and mobile technology and be passionate users of gadgets, mobile phones and PC’s. The candidate must have program and product management experience. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years work experience as a program or project manager with a capability of talking about mobile network and software architecture as well as discussing the merits of a new technology at a business level with top executives. Work experience as a technical evangelist (or equivalent) role, background in account management, business development skills and experience working directly with people from all over the World is a big plus.
