Mobile Advertising Product Manager

Our newest Product Manager on the Mobile Data Services team will tackle managing operations for new mobile advertising initiatives–such as Sugar Mama, the recently launched advertising service which allows Virgin Mobile’s coveted youth base to earn airtime in their spare time for engaging with like-minded brands, online and on-phone.
You will develop and follow through project implementation work plans to support all activities including service definition, requirements, testing, and reporting. You will coordinate with Virgin Mobile’s IT, Product Planning, Marketing, Voice, Analytics, Finance, and Care teams as well as third party vendors. At the core, you will be responsible for working through changes, timelines and deliverables. This is a role that requires a proactive mindset, technical competency, coordination, persistence, patience, excellent communication, and attention to detail. Manage operations of key initiatives on a daily basis:
• Provide daily reporting on key performance metrics (e.g., user acquisition and behavior, advertiser campaigns, billing status, etc.)
• Design and conduct analyses on key performance drivers, (e.g., user registration, usage, average minutes earned, click-through rates, average engagement lengths, etc.) based on VMU and third-party reporting
• Manage workflows with advertisers to secure and deliver content to third-party vendors and ensure appropriate approvals
• Identify any risk factors and analyze trends over time
• Develop and maintain project work plans and issue logs
You will also manage third-party vendor relationships, execute service enhancements by proactively working with key business functions to develop, test and product manage internal processes to assess and document requirements, create definition of service enhancements, documentation of customer experience process flows, and cross-functional requirements documents, etc. You’ll coordinate marketing messaging to current Sugar Mama users and prospects via email and SMS blasts, and migrate product offering to the mobile by understanding the evolution of mobile advertising and developing a product roadmap.
Getting this job is all about having the right skill set. To start, you’ll need 5-8 years experience in a similar product management role. You’ll need sound technical knowledge and documentation experience or advanced development experience for networked devices and services. Proficiency with Powerpoint, Excel and Access is important. You should be detail oriented, have a strong work ethic, a great sense of humor, and be able to handle things that are not always clearly defined and come loaded with an occasional curveball. You must be able to successfully scope and organize chaos, and be able to work with people of many personality types without getting ruffled.
