OK, we’ve all seen the iPhone commercial that made Apple devotees plunk down $600 smackeroos to get a mobile device that promised to change their digital lives. You know, the one where said owner of said phone watches “Pirates of the Caribbean”, gets a hankering for calamari, and finds a boatload of seafood restaurants in San Francisco. Well, imagine a companion site for mobile devices that lets you instantly reserve a table at the best-reviewed restaurant in Fisherman’s Wharf. If you build it, they will come … the question is, can you build it?
The Hired Guns are seeking a Mobile Interface Designer for our client, a major media company looking to fuse the best aspects of guides like Vindigo, MenuPages and Citysearch with reservation and ticket ordering tools like Fandango and OpenTable, with a little GPS to sweeten the service offering, all on your mobile phone.
The company wants a working prototype by the end of 2007. You’ll collaborate with the third-party mobile application provider to create new product designs and improve on existing ones, and mock up iterative prototypes of interactive interfaces in Flash and/or HTML.
