6:30pm-6:45pm: @WalmartLabs’ Journey into Cloud Computing (Tech Talk)
Walmart operates one of the world’s largest private cloud infrastructures on OpenStack. Learn how we’ve unleashed our team’s agility by embracing a DevOps culture, providing robust application lifecycle capabilities via the recently open sourced OneOps product. We have also redesigned our eCommerce platform to take advantage of these new underlying capabilities. Companies can now replicate our success.

E-commerce customers expect to be provided with rich, relevant, multi-device shopping experiences, with an ever-increasing product assortment. Naturally, this has accelerated the adoption of data science techniques outside of typical data science-heavy functional areas such as logistics, recommendations, personalization, and product search. In this talk we present some of those areas, with a particular emphasis on pre-purchase events and processes.
